There are different types of multicast addresses used in the network
1) Link Local Multicast Address
--> It is used within the Layer 2 segment
--> Address starting from 224.0.0.0 to 224.0.0.255
2) Globally Scoped Multicast Address
--> This addresses are similar to public IP addresses used on the Internet.
--> Address starting from 224.0.1.0 to 238.255.255.255
1) Link Local Multicast Address

--> This addresses are similar to public IP addresses used on the Internet.

3) Administrative Scoped Multicast Address
--> This addresses are similar to Private IP addresses used in the Company.
--> Address starting from 239.0.0.0 to 239.255.255.255
4) GLOP Multicast Address
--> These addresses are assigned to the companies which have public AS for Internet based multicast applications.
--> Address starting from 233.0.0.0 to 233.255.255.255
5) Source Specific Multicast Address
--> These addresses are used for forwarding multicast packets to the receivers which are having some specific source multicast address.
--> Address starting from 232.0.0.0 to 232.255.255.255.255
