What is Wireless Access Point?
--> An Access Point is a wireless device which provides wireless connectivity to various devices like PC's, Laptops, Mobile Phone etc.
--> An Access Point receives the Ethernet data from wired connection ( switch) and converts it to wireless signal in the form of 2.4 GHZ or 5 GHZ then it sends it to wireless clients.
--> Most of the times Access Points are connected to wired devices such as Switches.
Types of Access Points?
--> An Access Point basically comes in two modes
Single Radio Access Point / Dual Radio Access Point
Single Radio / Dual Radio Access Point
--> Access Point which have only one Radio is called as Single Radio Access Point
---> Access Point which is having more than one Radio is called as Dual Radio Access Point
---> Single Radio Access Points will support only one standard at a time( 802.11a/b/g/n). whereas Dual Radio Access Points will support more than one standard.
--->Dual Radio Access Points are more useful compared to Single Radio Access Points, As they support more than one IEEE wireless standard at a time.
