Endpoint movement and bounce entries
--> There are many scenarios in which an endpoint moves within the network ( SQL Failover/VMotion/ Firewall Failover)
--> There should be a quick mechanism to detect these changes and update the endpoint table.
--> Cisco ACI uses data plane learning and bounce entries to let other switches know about endpoint movement in ACI.
--> In General, The bounce entry in the Endpoint Table is similar to the Remote Endpoint Entry.
--> The main difference between Bounce Entry and Remote Endpoint Entry is, The bounce entry does not change the source VTEP IP address before forwarding VXLAN Packet whereas the Remote Endpoint entry changes the source VTEP IP address with its own VTEP IP address.
Process:
i) As soon as Endpoint moves to the new Leaf Switch, The new Leaf Switch announces Endpoint Information to Spine Switch using COOP.
ii) Spine Switch updates COOP Entry for the Endpoint with new Leaf Switch information and send this information to the old Leaf Switch.
iii) Old Leaf Switch going to delete the Endpoint Entry from the Local Leaf Table and create a bounce entry pointing towards to new Leaf Switch.
