Following are the reasons why we should not use the STP in the Data Center Networks
1) Suboptimal Forwarding ( The traffic from one switch to another switch always goes via Root Switch)
2) Blocking the Extra Links in the Network ( Redundant Links are always blocked and unused when STP is enabled)
3) Does not support Equal Cost Multipath ( Uses only one path to forward the traffic from one switch to another switch)
4) Higher Convergence Time ( Link failures in STP takes time to calculate new paths to forward the traffic)
5) Higher chance of Loops in case of Traffic Storms
6) Not scalable due to the use of VLAN (12 bits)
