POE
--> POE stands for Power Over Ethernet.
--> POE is open standard (802.3af Standard).
--> POE provides maximum power level upto 15.4 watts.
--> POE enabled switches are used to provide power to the connected devices like IP Phones.
--> POE always provides 15.4 watts power to connected device even the device does not require that much amount of power.
--> It is old standard.
POE+
--> POE+ stands for Power Over Ethernet.
--> POE+ is also open standard ( 802.3at standard).
--> POE+ provides maximum power level upto 30 watts.
--> POE+ allows device to negotiate power levels with the switch, for example if device requires 3 watts then it only provides 3 watts to the device.
--> Compatible with 802.3 af devices.
UPOE
--> UPOE stands for Universal Power Over Ethernet.
--> UPOE is Cisco Proprietary, Works on only Cisco Switches.
--> UPOE provides maximum power level upto 60 watts.
--> It is possible to give power not only limited to IP phones or Access Points , we can give the Power to Laptops also.
