There are three types of memory available on Cisco ASA.
i) Flash Memory
--> It is the location of ASA where software image, configuration files, and other files are stored.
--> Flash Memory exists as single compact flash card or multiple compact flash cards.
--> We can check the contents of flash by using show flash or show disk command on ASA.
ii) SDRAM
--> It is the location of ASA where software image, configuration files and other files are stored after booting.
--> SDRAM exists as DIMIM ( Dual in Line Memory Module ) Sticks.
--> We can check the configuration in SDRAM by using show run command.
iii) ROM
--> It is the location of ASA where system bootstrap and other files are stored for repair and diagnostics purpose.
--> ROMMON mode is used to recover from forgotten admin password of ASA or to load software image if it is corrupted.
