In some scenarios, you need to check whether the packet is being received on the router or switch or not, In that cases we need to use debugging with ACL's. This is very useful for troubleshooting network related problems,
To check whether the packet is being received on the router or switch, first create extended acl with exact source and destination.
access-list 101 permit 10.0.0.1 0.0.0.0 10.0.0.2 0.0.0.0
Now configure debug ip packet with ACL
Router(config)# logging on
Router(config)# logging console
Router(config)# logging traps debugging
Router (config)# exit
Router# debug ip packet 101
Same thing If you want to check whether the packet is sent by the router or not for particular destination.
access-list 102 per 10.00.0.2 0.0.0.0 10.0.0.1 0.0.0.0
Router# debug ip packet 102
